Linden
Linden is a lovely, well-kept city with clean streets and plenty of grass and trees. We like to boast that there is a park within four blocks of every home in Linden. Our local government is constantly improving roads, beautifying parks, and building new office buildings and shopping areas.
Linden in the Spring
Recent improvements include paving the train station parking lot, painting the railroad trestle green and white, paving Wood Ave. and putting up new street signs. Recently built structures include a new Rite Aid and Commerce Bank on St. Georges Ave., a new athletic center, and a summer concert theater right in the heart of downtown. There are currently plans in the works to double the size of the Linden Library.
Location is one of Linden’s greatest assets! We are situated right between the Garden State Parkway (Exit 136) and the New Jersey Turnpike (Exit 13). We are just off the Goethels Bridge, with excellent access to Staten Island and Brooklyn. On the other side we sit at the doorstep to central and western New Jersey for more rural escapes. We are 20 minutes from Newark Liberty International Airport. Finally, we are a half hour’s drive from the heart of New York City, and New Jersey Transit brilliantly placed a major rail stop in the center of Linden which takes commuters into New York Penn Station.
